Re Vera Services checks the information provided on your application for veracity. Our routine checking focuses on the academic and professional data you provided when you applied. As a reminder, all information on your application and in recommendations is subject to verification at your school’s discretion.

Please check the information on your school’s admitted student portal for the deadline for submitting your Authorization and Release form. It is best to get the Authorization and Release form in as soon as possible after accepting your offer of admission as verifications are conducted in the order the release forms are received.

You need to submit the Authorization and Release Form along with a payment (if required). This form is necessary for Re Vera Services to begin verifying information. Please do not navigate away from the process until a confirmation is received on the screen or your payment (if any) may not be processed. You may also wish to reach out to your recommenders to let them know that someone from Re Vera Services may be contacting them to verify their recommendation.

In the case that Re Vera Services has a question regarding your file, they will reach out to you via email, so please be sure to update your email, using your preferred email on the release form. Please note that you may receive emails from several people at Re Vera Services as your file is being prepared; each individual specializes in a particular area of the process, so please look out for emails that might require your attention. For this reason, it is probably best to use a personal, not work email, as Re Vera Services may need to contact you after you have left your employer.

If your school requires the verification of salary data, we may need you to produce your W2s or other documentation as verification. This may happen if we cannot verify your salary information through your HR department or if the salary information is incorrect. We know that it is sometimes difficult to locate W2s or bank statements from years ago, so you may wish to check with your company in advance to make sure they will release salary data ahead of time so you know what to expect. In the case that you own your own company, you will definitely need to provide a Schedule-C or applicable tax tables from your tax documents upon request.

If you know ahead of time that you provided incorrect information on your application, please send an email to the email address at the very top of the Authorization and Release form, noting the discrepancy. We will address this discrepancy with the school and they will contact you if any further explanation on your part is required.

Re Vera Services will reach out to you with specific steps to complete your verification; in the meantime, you may wish to create an account with the third party that holds the human resources data for your employer so that you can verify the information that will be provided to us.

We aim to complete all verifications before students arrive on campus. Candidates admitted from the Waiting List after the regular admissions cycle may be completed later.

Re Vera Services and your school are unable to provide status updates during the verification process. Please check your applicant portal by saving the link you were given when you completed your release form to confirm your file is being processed and later, when it goes under review with your school.

The link to your applicant portal is in the confirmation email you received from Re Vera Services. If you cannot locate the email, please email the school specific email at the top of your release form for assistance.

First, Re Vera Services will contact you directly for an explanation; this is your time to provide further documentation (if necessary) or an explanation. Any discrepancy not resolved through this type of routine inquiry is referred to your school’s Admissions Office. An admission officer may then contact you and give you the chance to further resolve any inconsistency. The overwhelming majority of issues are resolved this way and are the product of honest error or differing recording systems by either applicants or company HR departments. We understand this and allow for it in our process. Should a significant discrepancy be found, however, your school’s Admissions Office, not Re Vera Services, will make a final decision on your file.

Not at all. There is no effect on your student status, visa processing, financial aid, or any other matter.

If you have not informed your current employer of your plans to pursue a graduate degree, you may desire Re Vera Services to delay verification of your current employment until such time that you choose to share your plans with your employer. Please email us immediately with the request and justification for the request using the email address specific to your school (found at the top of the Authorization and Release form) and with the following subject line:

Please note that Hold requests are for current employment only and will not delay the other portions of the verification. If your current employer was not listed on your application, there is no need to hold your employment as it will not be a part of the verification. If you do not receive a confirmation email about your hold within 2 business days, please call us at 1-888-408-4384, option 2. 

You should send Re Vera Services the incorporation documents or pertinent tax or filing forms depending on the place and state/country of filing. It is helpful if these documents are in English, but not necessary. Re Vera Services will follow up with the filing organization to verify documents. You may be asked to provide your W-2 or other supportive documents which show a record of employment matching that on your application as further evidence. You will be contacted individually if this is necessary.

If you are discharged, you will be contacted for a copy of your DD-214. If you are currently in the military, you may be asked to provide an LES or your social security number for verification. Military/veteran applicants from other countries may be asked for equivalent documentation.

Re Vera Services works closely with the Admissions Office to complete your file. Should you have a question about your verification, please email us using the email at the top of the release form for your school (you may find this email in the Documents section of the Applicant Portal); we will forward any inquiries we cannot address with the contact listed in your release form.
